Where the Janitor may assist you in navigating into the things available in your reality.
(a help-thread in short)Note: the Janitor declines any responsibility for any loss or any Patel “pop-in” that may mess up with your reality.

October 12, 2007 at 10:35 pm #1466Two little things of an assistance required nature, totally not urgent:
How do you make the blue block quote thingy?
When I do a search, it does not take me to the highlighted extract, but to the beginning of the story, for some reason.:yahoo_shame_on_you:Thank you
October 12, 2007 at 10:43 pm #1467Blue quote thingy
The blue quote thingy is made with bq. (blockquote) at the beginning of a new line.
bq. will give thatwill give that
If it extends to many paragraphs, then use
bq.. my long quote continuedp. *back to normal paragraph again*my long quote
continued
back to normal paragraph again
You can have more details in the Textile help file for other more complex designs…
Searching
I tried in both the search tab, and the “quicksearch”, and it seems OK.Only trick is in the search tab, when you look up, say… “Arona”… you have to click on the highlighted extract, and not on the title, if you want to be brought directly to the one of the many comments where Arona appears
October 13, 2007 at 9:28 am #1468:yahoo_idea:Well, that all sounds rather technical to me, I think I need a fairy helper from fairyland to magically assist me with technical details, I think I’ll call my helper Tekka…no, Tikka…WAIT! I already have a fairy helper, her name is Tiki! So THAT’S who she is! The little cutie that appeared as if by magic in my mailbox is my tech support fairy godmother!:yahoo_tongue:
October 13, 2007 at 9:40 am #1469hahahah! Well I searched Illi and got every William and brilliant too!:notepad:
October 13, 2007 at 9:45 am #1470What does {sticky} mean?:yahoo_idk:
October 13, 2007 at 10:33 am #1471[Sticky] means it won’t disappear below new discussions that may pop up every now and then…
Sticks to the top
October 13, 2007 at 11:34 am #1472thanks Eric, yeah i was clicking on the title

Seems there is an issue when you take too long to write a comment, the system thinks you are not signed in any longer.
Will see what I can do.In the meantime, if that happens, just copy your comment from the comment box, and then reload the page, and paste/post it back… Sorry for any inconvenience…
[EDIT] I’ve changed something in the configuration of the cookies, perhaps that’ll help. Might be a good thing to clear your cookies in your browser too, just in case…
October 21, 2007 at 12:21 am #1474Posting comment – sign in issue
OK, if the same weird thing happens, telling you you’re not signed in (when you are already), and refuses to post the comment, just hit “add your comment” again, and it should work…
October 21, 2007 at 12:38 pm #1475Yes it works
I did it without knowing you were discussing that

October 22, 2007 at 10:29 am #1478Eric I wanted to know if when I edit a very old comment that isn’t on the last page, is it said somewhere so other readers could look for it?
Or is it just me and the Administrator who know about it?
October 22, 2007 at 10:56 am #1479Edits and linking to comments
Yes, old edits are not highlighted in the system… If that’s a significant one, you might just want to post a comment somewhere to inform the others.
You can directly point to a comment, using the ID of the comment
Like in the last comment, when you talk about the 29th comment, once you’ve clicked on # 29 and “copy as textile”, that would give that: Malvina’s Dragon Rookery # 29 …October 22, 2007 at 10:58 am #1480Great
October 22, 2007 at 5:53 pm #1481I thought copy as textile was something to do with fabric effect backgrounds
learn something new every day here
October 22, 2007 at 6:44 pm #1482Hehehe, Textile is the name of the markup language used to add some easy peasy magical formatting to beautify your texts
*some* _easy_ +peasy+ magical formattingOctober 22, 2007 at 8:31 pm #1477Well thanks for that Eric, but I am still non the wiser
When I want to do some easy peasy textile formatting (if I ever find out what it is) I will ask again!!!
