Floviana
Floviana (The Feral Queen)
-
Archetype: The Imperious Matriarch. The Antagonist / Anti-Heroine of Helier’s Liz Tattler novel.
-
Personality: She is the Eldest, an ancient creature who views humanity not just as food, but as cattle to be managed with aristocratic disdain. Her “feral” nature isn’t messy; it is the terrifying, efficient violence of a lioness. She commands silence.
-
The Hoard: She collects Power. Her carriage is laden with crowns of toppled kings and the scepters of forgotten empires. She refuses to let go of her status, even while fleeing through the mud.
-
Key Detail: She wipes her mouth with fine lace after draining a peasant, maintaining her regal composure even when knee-deep in leaf mulch.
-
Significance: To Helier, she is a character. To Boothroyd, she is a fantasy. To the discerning reader (Laddie), she is likely a satire of Yvoise before she found God, or on a bad day.
-
Current Action: Drainer of village wenches; cause of Boothroyd’s distraction.
